<br><br>70.170 Salary for services under KRS 70.150 and 70.160. <br>(1) Each sheriff performing the duties required under the provisions of KRS 70.150 and <br>70.160 shall be allowed the amount of thirty-six hundred dollars (&#36;3,600) annually <br>payable out of the State Treasury at the rate of three hundred dollars (&#36;300) per <br>month for such services. The first such monthly payment shall be for the month of <br>July, 1966, and the check therefor shall be forwarded to the sheriff concerned on or <br>about the last working day of that month and each month thereafter. <br>(2) The allowance authorized in subsection (1) of this section shall be considered as <br>operating expenses of the sheriff's office and shall not be considered as part of his <br>compensation. Sheriffs shall not be required to keep records verifying the <br>expenditures from the allowance provided by the state. <br>Effective: July 15, 1980 <br>History: Amended 1980 Ky.
