<br><br>78.400 Definitions for KRS 78.400 to 78.480 and KRS 78.990. <br>As used in KRS 78.400 to 78.480 and KRS 78.990, unless the context otherwise requires <br>the following words and terms shall have the following meaning: <br>(1) "Board" means the county police force merit board or boards hereinafter created. <br>(2) "Chief" means the chiefs of the county police forces affected by KRS 78.400 to <br>78.480 and KRS 78.990. <br>(3) "Assistant chief" means the next in command to the chiefs of the county police <br>forces affected by KRS 78.400 to 78.480 and KRS 78.990. <br>(4) "Secretary" means the executive secretary and examiner employed by the county <br>police force merit board or boards hereinafter created. <br>(5) "Officer" means any member of the county police forces affected by KRS 78.400 to <br>78.480 and KRS 78.990 including chiefs and assistant chiefs and all commissioned <br>or noncommissioned patrolmen, corporals, sergeants, lieutenants and captains. <br>(6) "Employee" means all other employees of the county police forces affected by KRS <br>78.400 to 78.480 and KRS 78.990. <br>History: Amended 1972 Ky.
