<br><br>82.026 City historic preservation commissions. <br>The legislative body of any city may enact ordinances establishing local historic <br>preservation commissions for the purpose of qualifying for historic preservation funding. <br>The city shall comply with the 1966 National Historic Preservation Act, as amended, in <br>order to meet the requirements for an adequate and qualified historic preservation <br>commission, and the legislative body shall provide: <br>(1) A system for surveying and inventorying historic properties; <br>(2) Procedures for adequate public participation in the local historic preservation <br>program, including the process of recommending properties to the national register; <br>(3) The enforcement of appropriate state and local legislation for the designation and <br>protection of historic properties; and <br>(4) Such other responsibilities as may be required by the 1966 National Historic <br>Preservation Act, as amended. <br>Effective: July 13, 1984 <br>History: Created 1984 Ky.
