<br><br>83.660 Removal of executive and ministerial officers -- Appeals. <br>(1) Unless otherwise provided by law, executive and ministerial officers of the city may <br>be removed by the board of aldermen, sitting as a court, under oath, upon charges <br>preferred by the mayor or by any two (2) members of the board of aldermen, or, in <br>case of charges against the mayor, upon charges preferred by not less than five (5) <br>members of the board of aldermen. No alderman preferring a charge shall sit as a <br>member of the board of aldermen when it tries that charge. <br>(2) Any person removed from office under the provisions of this section may appeal to <br>the Circuit Court and from there to the Court of Appeals. The appeal to the Circuit <br>Court shall be taken and tried in the same manner as civil cases are tried. <br>Effective: January 2, 1978 <br>History: Amended 1976 (1st Extra. Sess.) Ky.
